Nadella Warns on Risks of Unchecked Superintelligence
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has emphasized the importance of maintaining human control over superintelligence. In a recent post on X, he stated that pursuing AI capable of surpassing humans across nearly every cognitive task would not be worth it if it failed to serve people and remained outside human oversight.
Nadella called for wider adoption of AI through a frontier ecosystem where both closed-source and open-source models can thrive. He argued that the benefits of AI should be accelerated and spread broadly, rather than concentrated in a few companies.
The Microsoft CEO also emphasized the need for organizations to retain full control over their unique knowledge and build their own continuous learning loops. He welcomed research, focus, and deliberate pacing to get alignment right as a design goal.
