Nasdaq Composite Index Slips Amid Rising Oil Prices and Tech Weakness
The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) closed at 26,421.41 on September 8th, down 85.58 points or 0.32% from its previous close of 26,528.57.
Oil prices rose 2.5% due to rising tensions in the Middle East, contributing to the decline of US stocks, including tech heavyweights Nvidia (NVDA), Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Micron Technology (MU), and Now Inc (NOW).
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US) dropped 628.18 points or 1.2%, while the S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US) slipped 4%.
