Nasdaq Tumbles Over 1% as Tech Stocks Struggle
The US stock market traded lower on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq Composite falling more than 1%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by a fraction of a percent to 53,416.87, while the NASDAQ fell 1.25% to 26,310.99.
The S&P 500 also declined, dropping 0.55% to 7,702.64.
However, health care shares saw a boost of 1.8%, bucking the downward trend.
In contrast, information technology stocks fell by 1.9%.
The earnings report from Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) was one of the key highlights of the day, as it exceeded analyst expectations with quarterly earnings of $4.92 per share and sales of $47.861 billion.
