National Airlines Sets New Record with 9,800 Mile Cargo Flight
National Airlines has claimed to have completed the longest commercial Boeing 777F cargo flight, covering a distance of 9,849 nautical miles (18,240 km) in 19 hours and 23 minutes.
The flight departed from Prestwick Airport in Scotland on August 4th and landed at Melbourne, Australia. The aircraft used for the mission was a newly delivered Boeing 777 Freighter registered N792CA.
National Airlines stated that the operation was performed on behalf of another operator, Golden Aviation. The cargo consisted of a replacement aircraft component, possibly supplied by one of the aerospace manufacturers located near Prestwick Airport.
