National Airlines Sets Record with Ultra-Long-Haul Cargo Flight

National Airlines has completed what is believed to be the longest commercial cargo flight ever flown by a Boeing 777 Freighter. The airline flew a 777F nonstop from Scotland to Australia on August 4, covering a distance of 11,315 miles over nearly 20 hours.

The flight was operated on behalf of UK-based aviation services firm Golden Aviation and had nearly 40,000 people tracking its journey across the world. The aircraft, N792CA, was delivered to National in May 2026 as part of a four-aircraft order with Boeing.

National Airlines' achievement is impressive considering the 777F was not designed for ultra-long-haul missions like this one. To complete the nearly 10,000 nautical mile flight, the crew had to carefully plan and manage weight, pushing the aircraft beyond its published maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles.
