National Pension Service Boosts Stake in Biotech Giant Amgen Inc.
National Pension Service (NPS) has significantly increased its stake in Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN), one of the world's largest biotechnology companies.
In a recent disclosure to the Securities and Exchange Commission, NPS revealed that it had grown its stake in shares of Amgen by 1% during the second quarter. The pension fund now owns approximately 0.24% of Amgen's outstanding stock, valued at $465.74 million.
This increase is part of a broader trend of institutional investors buying into Amgen's growth prospects. Other major shareholders, including California State Teachers Retirement System and BlackRock Inc., have also increased their stakes in the company.
Amgen has been performing well, with its revenue up 9.5% year-over-year in the second quarter. The company reported $6.29 earnings per share (EPS), beating analyst estimates of $5.62 EPS. Amgen's FY2026 guidance is also expected to reach between 22.3 and 23.5 EPS.
