Naver Expands AI Capabilities with Nvidia and Brookfield Partnership
Naver Corp., South Korea's largest online platform operator, is expanding its AI capabilities through a strategic alliance with Nvidia Corp. and Brookfield. As part of this partnership, Naver will establish a wholly-owned operator for Nvidia-Brookfield-backed AI factories.
The move comes as Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin has been driving the company's efforts in defense technology. The company unveiled its military AI initiative last week, which aims to accelerate the country's military deployment of AI models and cloud infrastructure.
Nvidia Corp., a leading US-based tech firm, is investing $1 billion in Naver for a 4.5% stake as part of this alliance. This investment deepens their existing partnership in building AI factories. The two companies have been working together to deliver advanced AI chips for local customers.
