Navy Awards Boeing $562 Million for MQ-25A Production
The US Navy has awarded Boeing $562 million in its first production contract for the MQ-25A Stingray, an unmanned carrier-based tanker. The contract is a fixed price incentive agreement specifically for Lot 1 Low Rate Initial Production aircraft (LRIP), which includes funding for three LRIP MQ-25As and advanced acquisition of long lead components to support three LRIP Lot 2 aircraft.
The initial deliveries for Lot 1 are expected to start in 2029. This contract follows the MQ-25A receiving developmental testing, with a photo provided showing one of the aircraft painted outside Boeing's dedicated production facility in Mascoutah, Illinois.
