NESG Bolsters Leadership with Appointment of Jim Swartz
The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has strengthened its leadership with the appointment of Jim Swartz as a Director on its Board.
Swartz brings over 36 years of experience in the energy industry, particularly in upstream operations and asset development, to his new role. As Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa, he provides executive leadership for Chevron's operations across Nigeria and the wider Mid-Africa region.
With a background that spans multiple geographies, including Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, and Ghana, Swartz is well-equipped to provide valuable perspectives on issues relating to energy, investment, infrastructure, productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth. His experience in stakeholder engagement, commercial strategy, and organisational leadership will be a significant asset to the NESG's policy dialogue.
Swartz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology with Distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1988) and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Oklahoma (1990). He assumed his current role at Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa in 2024.
