Nest Camera Users Can Share Live Feed, But It Depends on Hardware Model

Google's Nest camera users can share their live feed with others, but it depends on the type of camera they own. Those with older models managed through the original Nest app have an advantage as they can generate a web link to broadcast the feed directly to any web browser.

This feature is not available for newer hardware released in 2021 or later, such as the battery-powered Nest Cam or the latest Nest Doorbell. Instead, users need to invite others to become full members of their Google Home household, granting them access to all camera feeds and connected smart home devices.

To set up a broadcast link on older models, users need to use a laptop or desktop computer and sign into their account through the Nest web portal at home.nest.com. They can then select the specific camera feed they want to share and create a password-protected URL that allows up to 10 viewers to watch the stream.

It's recommended to skip public sharing options as they don't have any authentication measures, making it essential to use strong passwords and keep track of who is watching the feed. Users can also revoke access by changing the password or stopping the camera share altogether.
