Networking Stocks Surge: Ciena, Arista, and Cisco Rise

Ciena's stock price has surged 5% to $351.38 in early Friday afternoon trading, reversing a post-earnings selloff that followed its fiscal third quarter release on September 3.

The move extends a rebound that's now lasted across the full week and effectively closes the door on the initial negative reaction to the report.

Ciena is not alone in its surge, as Arista Networks has risen 5% to $197.84 and Cisco has jumped 4% to $111.53, both also reversing post-earnings selloffs.

The gains are notable because they're significantly higher than the broader tech sector, with the iShares U.S. Technology ETF up only 1.5% and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust up 1%.
