Netwrix has released an update to its PingCastle and Threat Manager tools that aims to address the growing challenge of tracking and governing AI agents in enterprise environments.

The company's research found that few organizations have proper governance, inventory management, and oversight for these non-human identities, which are associated with a higher likelihood of security breaches.

PingCastle 4.0 now provides 102 Entra ID risk checks, enabling organizations to evaluate identity security risks across both Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID using a unified assessment approach.

The update also introduces support for Azure Files protection, including detection of ransomware activity, unusual behavior, and risky configuration changes such as overly permissive file-sharing settings.
