Newtown Library Hosts Job Fair and Microsoft Workshop on September 2
The C.H. Booth Library in Newtown is hosting a job fair and Microsoft workshop on September 2, aimed at connecting local residents with employers in various industries.
Organized in collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Labor, Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, and Career Resources, the job fair will take place from 11 am to 2 pm in the library's meeting room. Several employers, including ComForCare Homecare Services, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, Norbert E. Mitchell Co, Inc, and the US Postal Service, will be present to discuss various positions such as caregivers, special education paraprofessionals, apprentice mechanics, and rural carriers.
Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes. While registration is not required in advance, it can be completed at check-in on the day of the event.
In addition to the job fair, a Microsoft Word workshop will also take place in Edmond Town Hall's lower parking lot from 10 am and 1 pm. The Career Coach, a mobile classroom that provides career services and computer training, will offer an introduction to Microsoft Word, covering basic skills for creating and formatting documents.
