Nike Favored Over Lululemon in Retail Trader Poll
Retail traders are betting on Nike Inc. (NKE) to bounce back from its recent slump, favoring it over Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU) by a margin of 68% to 32% in a Stocktwits poll.
Nike's stock has been underperforming the S&P 500 at a historic pace, with a 78% drop from its all-time high in 2021. Despite this, retail sentiment on Stocktwits remains extremely bullish, with some users predicting a return to $60 per share and others collecting dividends.
Nike's CEO Elliott Hill has been working to reshape the company's organization and move away from an aggressive direct-to-consumer emphasis. However, analysts like Michael Binetti of Evercore ISI remain cautious, stating that there is no clear reason to expand valuation multiples until revenue turns positive.
