Nike Sets Sights on 25th Consecutive Dividend Hike Amid Slow Revenue Growth
Nike's commitment to shareholders has been unwavering despite its struggles in recent years. The company is on track to raise its dividend for the 25th consecutive year, with a payout of $0.41 per share expected in November.
The sportswear giant's dividend yield currently stands at 4%, nearly four times that of the S&P 500 index. Since 2023, Nike has paid out $6.9 billion in cumulative dividends, equal to 11% of its market capitalization.
Nike's leadership team, led by CEO Elliott Hill, has made efforts to improve product innovation and distribution, but progress is slow. The company's revenue is projected to fall 1.5% in fiscal 2027, with growth expected to be less than 4% annually over the next two years.
