Nike Stock Hits Lowest Level Since 2014 Amid Restructuring Concerns
Nike's stock price plummeted to its lowest level in almost 12 years on Monday, falling below $40 for the first time since 2014. The sportswear company's shares dropped as much as 3.2% to an intraday low of $39.41, with a trading value around $39.49 at approximately 11:04 a.m. ET.
The decline represents a significant drop in the stock's value, down 38% in 2026, and nearly 78% from its November 2021 record of $179.10. The company's China restructuring and weak international demand have been major contributors to Nike's selloff, with concerns that its turnaround will take longer than investors expected.
JPMorgan's August 4 downgrade of Nike's stock from Neutral to Underweight and a reduced price target from $47 to $40 are also being cited as factors in the decline. The bank estimated that Nike's plan to restrict partner-operated online sales in China could create an annual revenue headwind exceeding $1 billion.
