Nike Stock May Be Undervalued by 13%
Nike's stock price has plummeted over the past five years, falling about 74% and leaving sentiment weak. Despite this decline, valuation checks suggest that the current share price may be undervalued.
According to a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) intrinsic value estimate, Nike's shares could be worth around $42 per share, which is roughly 12.6% above the current market price. This suggests that investors are pricing the company at a discount to its intrinsic value.
However, the broader framework of valuation does not flag the stock as an obvious bargain, and ongoing competitive pressures in athletic wear may keep pressure on Nike's sales mix and pricing power. Additionally, the launch of a tokenized $NKE instrument on Solana can widen access to the equity but also introduces uncertainty.
The P/E check shows that Nike trades at a multiple of about 17.6x, which is above the broader luxury sector average of roughly 15.5x and the peer group at about 13.3x. However, the valuation framework suggests that a fair P/E closer to 22.5x might be more reasonable.
This gap between the market multiple and the fair P/E indicates that investors are pricing Nike at a discount to what its earnings profile might support on this method.
