Ninth Circuit Blocks Depositions of Google and Apple Executives
The Ninth Circuit has denied a group of consumers' petition for writ of mandamus in an antitrust litigation against Google. The consumers sought to depose Google's CEO and several other executives, but their request was rejected by a lower court.
The group of consumers is suing Google over allegations that the company shut out competitors from its search engine. They wanted to question the CEOs of Google and Apple, as well as other executives, in relation to this case.
The Ninth Circuit's decision means that the consumers will not be able to depose the CEOs in this antitrust litigation. This ruling could have implications for future cases where plaintiffs seek to depose high-level executives in similar disputes.
