Nordhavn 100 Charts New Territory in Oceanic Exploration
Nordhavn has unveiled its latest model, the Nordhavn 100, designed to tackle serious ocean crossings. This new explorer yacht boasts a projected cruising range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles, making it capable of traveling long distances without needing frequent refueling.
The Nordhavn 100 was developed in-house by Jeff Leishman and Nordhavn's engineering team. Rather than creating an entirely new platform, they evolved the design from their established Nordhavn 96 model. The changes include a larger traditional cockpit and fully extended side decks, increasing the yacht's waterline length while providing additional outdoor space.
The Nordhavn 100 features five staterooms that can accommodate up to 10 guests. The main deck brings together an open-plan saloon, dining area, and galley surrounded by large windows, while the enlarged aft cockpit offers another social area. Higher up, the upper deck provides a more secluded space for the owner with elevated outdoor areas and open ocean views.
The yacht's lower deck contains crew accommodation, technical spaces, laundry facilities, and storage for tenders and water toys. The engine room is positioned amidships to reduce noise and vibration during long passages. Twin Caterpillar engines provide propulsion, while extensive backup systems are incorporated to improve operational resilience during extended offshore voyages.
