Norse Atlantic Airways Seeks New Lease Deals for Up to Six Boeing 787-9s

Norse Atlantic Airways is exploring new deployment opportunities for up to six Boeing 787-9s after its damp-lease agreement with IndiGo ended.

The airline is in lease discussions with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Biman Bangladesh Airlines, which could provide a more stable contracted revenue source while Norse reduces its commercial flight programme.

The talks remain private, but the approach suggests the need to finalise a contract to generate stable income. The prospective deal would encompass nearly half of the fleet, previously deployed at IndiGo.

Norse expects to retain some returned capacity for its own winter network and reassess by the northern summer of 2027. PIA and Biman could benefit from a more immediate long-haul solution without purchasing planes and incurring intense capital expenditure.
