Norse Atlantic Seeks Boeing 787 Leases Amid Financial Struggles

Norse Atlantic ASA is struggling to stay afloat amidst rising fuel costs and low cash reserves. To alleviate some of this pressure, the Norwegian budget carrier is in talks with two Asian airlines to lease out six Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliners.

The potential lessees are Pakistan International Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. According to people familiar with the matter, the negotiations involve different types of lease agreements, including dry leases and wet leases.

A dry lease would provide only the aircraft, while a wet lease would also cover crew, maintenance, and insurance costs. The talks are private, so details about the specific terms of the agreements have not been disclosed.
