North Carolina Man Sought for Stealing Heavy Equipment from Virginia
A man from North Carolina is wanted for Grand Larceny in Tazewell County, Virginia.
The Tazewell Virginia Police Department has filed charges against Christopher Neil Coughenour for allegedly stealing a 2011 Caterpillar 305.5 DCR excavator from the 1500 block of Fairgrounds Road in Tazewell on July 1, 2026.
Coughenour is described as a white man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Three other people have been identified as potential conspirators in the theft.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are grateful for the assistance of several law enforcement agencies, including the Bluefield Police Department, Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, and Cabarrus County, NC Sheriff’s Office.
