Norwich Lanes Ranked Among Top High Streets in the UK

A UK city centre shopping area has been recognized for its vibrant high street scene.

Norwich Lanes, a popular destination in Norwich, England, was ranked among the best high streets in the country by American Express's Shop Small study. The study highlighted areas with a high concentration of independent retailers and small businesses, including Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and Manchester.

Dan Edelman, senior manager at American Express, emphasized the importance of small businesses in local economies: 'Small businesses play a crucial role in supporting local economies up and down the country and it's pleasing to now see their impact beyond the high street.'

The Norwich Lanes area is described as 'meandering streets' made for foodies, art lovers, and indie shoppers alike. It was grouped alongside Oldham Street in Manchester and St Mary's Street in Stamford, which took the top spot in the ranking.
