Nvidia and MediaTek have expanded their partnership to cover AI infrastructure, PCs, and automotive applications. The two companies announced an investment of $3.5 billion in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek.

The centerpiece of the partnership is MediaTek's adoption of Nvidia's NVLink Fusion platform. This will enable hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and frontier model developers to develop custom XPUs that connect into Nvidia's rack-scale AI factory architecture.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, said: 'MediaTek is one of the world's great semiconductor companies, with exceptional expertise in system-on-chip design, connectivity, leading performance and power efficiency. Together, we're building platforms that bring NVIDIA accelerated computing to new markets.'
