Nvidia and Salesforce Lift Global Markets with Strong Earnings Reports
World markets experienced a mixed performance on Friday, with most indices rising due to strong earnings reports from tech giants such as Nvidia and Salesforce.
Nvidia led the charge, with its shares surging by 8.7% after delivering better-than-expected profits and revenue for the latest quarter. CEO Jensen Huang stated that AI has reached an inflection point, citing its growing usefulness and profitability.
Salesforce also reported a strong quarter, with its stock jumping 22.6% as it raised its forecast for revenue over the full year. The company's expanded partnership with Anthropic's Claude chatbot was seen as a positive development.
However, not all indices rose, with South Korea's Kospi falling by 1.8%. Oil prices also swung wildly, with Brent crude slipping 0.4% to $88.13 per barrel.
