Nvidia Backs Ohio Data Center Project
Nvidia is partnering with OpenAI on an ambitious project in Ohio to build a massive data center campus.
The campus, which will span 8 gigawatts of computing capacity, will be built and operated by SB Energy, a SoftBank-backed company.
Nvidia will invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy and provide credit support for the project, covering an initial 4.25 gigawatts with an option for the remaining 3.75 gigawatts.
The deal is expected to create 35,000 construction jobs through 2032 and 2,500 long-term jobs, along with an $80 million community benefits fund.
