Nvidia Bolsters AI Infrastructure Dominance with MediaTek Investment and Data-Center Orchestration Gains
Nvidia is expanding its position as a leader in AI infrastructure through two significant developments.
The company has announced a $3.5 billion investment in MediaTek, a Taiwanese chipmaker that will adopt Nvidia's technology to design custom chips for AI companies and hyperscalers integrating directly into Nvidia-based data centers.
Nvidia's partnership with MediaTek grants the latter access to Nvidia's NVLink Fusion ecosystem, enabling faster communication between chips regardless of origin. This collaboration follows a similar arrangement last week with AWS, which will deploy two million additional Nvidia GPUs.

Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture pairs its Rubin GPU with supporting systems, including the Vera CPU, designed to manage data movement efficiently. The Vera CPU has delivered roughly threefold improvements in memory operations, addressing bottlenecks as data centers scale.
