Nvidia Bolsters AI Infrastructure with $1.5 Billion Data Center Investment
Nvidia's $1.5 billion investment in SB Energy is part of its strategic deepening into physical AI infrastructure, positioning it at the center of a massive Ohio data center project.
The PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Pike County, Ohio, will be one of the largest AI data centers ever conceived, with 4.25 gigawatts of initial capacity and options for expansion to 8 gigawatts total.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said, 'AI is becoming infrastructure, the foundation for intelligence in every industry, and land, power and shell have become vital in the age of AI.'
The investment will secure long-term demand for Nvidia's computing systems by locking in physical prerequisites that constrain AI deployment at scale.
