Nvidia Bolsters Quantum Computing with Fault-Tolerant Platform Upgrade
Nvidia has expanded its CUDA-Q platform to support fault-tolerant quantum processors. The move is designed to accelerate the shift towards newer, more reliable quantum systems.
CUDA-Q Logical is a new orchestration layer within the CUDA-Q software environment. It enables developers to model different algorithms, error-correction techniques and QPU architectures side-by-side, allowing for quick configuration before setting up hardware.
The platform has already been used by researchers at Fermilab's National Accelerator Laboratory, who were able to reduce the average development cycle of fault-tolerant algorithms from five months to just three weeks. This is a significant improvement, as it enables researchers to build applications roughly seven times faster than before.
