Nvidia CEO Claims AGI Already Achieved, Milestones 'Senseless'

Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang says artificial general intelligence (AGI) has already been achieved in some respects, making milestones around it 'senseless'.

Huang made this statement during an earnings call on Aug. 26, when asked about AGI in light of OpenAI's recent claims.

'For many tasks, we could say that we've already achieved AGI,' Huang said. 'I think of all of those milestones…they're kind of senseless at this point.'

Huang pointed to AI's ability to evolve beyond simply responding to prompts, saying agents can now reflect on their performance, learn new skills, and improve their future output.

This is not the first time Huang has claimed Nvidia has achieved AGI. In a March 2026 interview with podcaster Lex Fridman, he said an AI that could start, build, and run a billion-dollar company was achievable within the next 20 years.
