Nvidia CEO Declares Arrival of Artificial General Intelligence with OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has declared that artificial general intelligence (AGI) has arrived. This announcement comes after OpenAI's launch of GPT-6 Astra, a highly advanced AI model trained using over 100,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell NVLink 72 systems. The company is expected to deploy an additional 400,000 Nvidia GPUs next.
Astra completed tasks 47% faster than its predecessor, GPT-5.6 Sol, in OpenAI's OSWorld 2.0 test. It achieved a 72.6% success rate and took about 40 minutes to complete each task, compared with 75 minutes for GPT-5.6 Sol.
Astra can browse the internet, operate a computer, use software, write code, conduct research, and perform various other tasks with limited human intervention. It is also better equipped to make decisions when instructions are incomplete.
