Nvidia CEO Says 'AGI Has Arrived' with OpenAI's Astra Model
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said 'AGI has arrived' and credited OpenAI's latest model, Astra. He made this statement on social media platform X after OpenAI unveiled its newest and most powerful model, which it calls the world's 'most intelligent and aligned model'.
Astra is capable of performing tasks with 'unmatched speed, accuracy, and judgment', according to Greg Brockman, OpenAI's president. He described it as a major research breakthrough that marks the beginning of the AGI era.
AGI stands for artificial general intelligence, a term that refers to highly autonomous systems that outperform humans at most economically valuable work. The concept is still fuzzy, but leading AI labs have made significant progress in recent years.
Nvidia has been supplying OpenAI with its advanced chips, which are crucial for training and running AI models. In August, the company reported $96.2 billion in quarterly revenue, more than double the amount from a year earlier.
