Nvidia CEO's Favorite Biotech Stock Aims to Revolutionize Medicine with AI
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's favorite biotech stock is Generate Biomedicines (NASDAQ: GENB), which has attracted significant investment from top companies like Nvidia and Amgen. In February, Generate went public with an initial public offering (IPO) and its shares have since risen more than 12%. The company's AI platform, called the Generate Platform, uses proprietary machine-learning architectures to engineer novel protein therapeutics that target disease pathways and undruggable proteins.
Generate's lead candidate, GB-0895, is currently in phase 3 trials for severe asthma, while another candidate, GB-4362, aims to broaden the therapeutic window of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) by reducing off-target side effects. The company has additional pre-clinical internal programs leveraging next-gen ADC technologies and modular protein engineering across immunology and oncology.
However, as a clinical-stage biotech company, Generate faces ongoing cash burn and potential dilution before achieving commercial profitability. It reported $7.2 million in revenue from its collaborations with Amgen and Nvidia in the first quarter, but had a net loss of $61.7 million for the quarter.
