Nvidia Confirms DLSS 5 Support for GeForce RTX 40 Series, But Stays Tight-Lipped on Timing
Nvidia has confirmed plans to bring its DLSS 5 neural rendering tech to GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, but did not provide a specific release window for this expansion of support.
The company stated that DLSS 5 is its most computationally demanding model to date, with a 5X performance gain achieved since its initial announcement in March. Nvidia's current focus is on optimizing performance for the GeForce RTX 50 Series, with model updates expected later this fall.
Although modders have already managed to get DLSS 5 running on older GPUs, including the RTX 30 and 20 series, their success has been limited by the power consumption and performance of these cards. In contrast, Nvidia's focus is on optimizing the feature for its newer hardware.
