Nvidia has expressed concerns about the misuse of artificial intelligence (A.I.) models by startups Anthropic and OpenAI, stating that it may restrict or stop using their models unless they guarantee that their intellectual property will not be misused.

The comments from Nvidia come as industry concerns over A.I.'s potential harms grow. Palantir Technologies has supported Nvidia's approach and called for Anthropic and OpenAI to do more to safeguard A.I. Microsoft has proposed using isolated cloud environments to help restrict A.I. and ensure any harms are limited.

Nvidia already limits Anthropic's use to less sensitive tasks and relies on its own internal A.I. models for most of its work. There is growing pressure on technology companies to reign in and safeguard A.I. technologies following several breaches in recent weeks and warnings of potential harms to humanity.
