Nvidia DLSS 5 Brings Realistic Graphics but Steals Performance
Nvidia's DLSS 5 technology promises to bring hyper-realistic real-time graphics to gaming, but its significant performance hit may be a major drawback. According to Nvidia, enabling the new AI-powered visual features can result in a 50-60% performance loss.
The technology has become much more efficient since its initial reveal six months ago, with Nvidia able to make it roughly five times faster and allow it to run on more accessible hardware.
However, even with these improvements, the performance cost remains significant. If a game normally runs at 60 FPS, enabling DLSS 5's new AI visual processing could potentially bring that figure down to around 24-30 FPS, representing a 50-60% performance loss.
