Nvidia's latest super resolution technology, DLSS 5, is set to launch on September 3 for PCs with RTX 50 Series GPUs and GeForce Now cloud streaming service. The first game to support DLSS 5 will be NBA 2K27.

DLSS 5 uses '3D-guided neural rendering' to achieve Hollywood-grade photorealism, but developers have control over where to apply the new technology. This means they can boost environmental details while holding back on character graphics or vice versa.

Nvidia claims that PC gamers with GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs should be able to play NBA 2K27 at up to 370 frames per second, 4K resolution, and Ultra Preset with DLSS 5 enabled. The company also plans to announce more games supporting DLSS 5 in the coming weeks.
