Nvidia Dominates AI Chip Market as Marvell Technology Sees Consistent Growth
The financial performance of Marvell Technology and Nvidia has been remarkable in recent years, driven by the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence sector. Both companies have seen their revenue increase quarter-over-quarter, with Nvidia's sales growth accelerating at a faster pace than its rival.
Nvidia's revenue trend is striking, with its total sales more than double that of Marvell Technology. The company's products are central to the AI ecosystem, and customers are rapidly adopting them. A notable example is the Japanese government's partnership with Nvidia to launch the world's first national infrastructure dedicated to AI.
Marvell Technology, on the other hand, has a more modest sales total but consistent growth in its revenue. The company's products are key components that are finding customer adoption, and its stock price surged in June after it was added to the S&P 500 index, reaching a 52-week high of $329.88.
The companies' revenue figures for recent quarters are as follows: Marvell Technology reported revenues of $1.3 billion (Q3 2024), $1.5 billion (Q4 2024), $1.8 billion (Q1 2025), $1.9 billion (Q2 2025), $2.0 billion (Q3 2025), and $2.2 billion (Q1 2026). Nvidia's revenue was significantly higher, at $30.0 billion (Q3 2024), $35.1 billion (Q4 2024), $39.3 billion (Q1 2025), $44.1 billion (Q2 2025), $46.7 billion (Q3 2025), and $68.1 billion (Q1 2026).
Nvidia's net income margin for the quarter ended April 26, 2026 was 66%, while Marvell Technology reported a 1% net income margin for the same period.
