Nvidia Doubles Down on SpaceX with $21 Billion Bet
Nvidia has made a massive investment in Elon Musk's SpaceX, pouring $21 billion into the space launch and AI company.
This significant bet on SpaceX adds to Nvidia's already substantial portfolio of investments, which now totals $63.4 billion, representing about half of its overall cash position of $80.6 billion.
The move is not surprising given the close relationship between Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Elon Musk, with both executives expressing admiration for each other's work in the past.
Huang has praised SpaceX's Grok chatbot and Tesla's vehicles as 'world-class', referring to Musk as an 'extraordinary engineer' who retains large amounts of information across multiple disciplines in his head, calling him 'the ultimate GPU'. Musk, on the other hand, has expressed his enthusiasm for Nvidia's products, stating that he believes its Vera Rubin architecture is the best AI computer and that he thinks it's the best to build exclusively on.
