Nvidia Earnings in Focus as US Stock Indices Close Higher
US stock indices closed higher on Tuesday following news that the US will redeploy diplomats to Middle Eastern embassies, easing fears of broader regional conflict.
The S&P 500 rose 0.3%, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.6% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.3%. The Russell 2000, which tracks stocks with small market capitalizations, rose 0.5%.
Investors were focused on the semiconductor sector ahead of Nvidia's quarterly earnings report, expected to hit $92.2 billion in revenue, nearly double from the same quarter last year.
Analysts expect Nvidia's earnings to be $2.09 per share, with one analyst saying 'Nvidia is operating on all cylinders, and they're doing absolutely everything correctly at this point.'
