Nvidia Expands Australian Data Center Capacity in Bid to Meet Global AI Demand
Nvidia has announced partnerships with several Australian data center and cloud providers to expand its presence in the country. The partnership will help build out more cloud computing capacity in Australia using Nvidia's DSX platform, which is designed for AI workloads.
The company plans to collaborate with firms like Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, ResetData, Megaport, CDC, NextDC, and AirTrunk to achieve this goal. By 2027, they aim to build out approximately 2 gigawatts of capacity.
Nvidia emphasized the importance of expanding its data center infrastructure in Australia to support local innovators who need access to AI computing power for model development, application creation, and other tasks. This move aligns with Nvidia's broader strategy to address growing demand for AI compute globally.
