Nvidia Expands AWS Partnership with Two Million Additional GPUs
Nvidia has expanded its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the world's largest cloud companies. The deal involves deploying two million additional Nvidia GPUs across AWS' global network over the next two years.
This move builds on a 16-year-old partnership between the two companies and signals that demand for AI chips continues to climb, driven by higher capital expenditures.
Nvidia's Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress said the cloud industry backlog now tops $2 trillion, with the top five hyperscalers expected to spend close to $800 billion on AI infrastructure this year.
The companies plan to bring Nvidia's new Vera CPUs to AWS infrastructure and extend NVLink Fusion technology to give customers more options for AI workloads.
