Nvidia Expands Ecosystem Beyond Chips to Dominate AI Market
Nvidia's dominance in the AI chip market is being challenged by companies like Amazon and Google, which are developing their own chips. However, Nvidia has expanded its ecosystem beyond just GPU chips to include data organization and traffic management between system components.
The company's Vera Rubin platform combines a set of components that work together within integrated systems, including the Rubin GPU, Vera CPU, inference accelerator, specialized storage, and networking components. This allows for efficient processing power without being constrained by slow data transfer, storage, or networks.
Nvidia is also pushing to develop the network layer that connects GPUs and data center components, with technologies like NVLink and Spectrum-X Ethernet designed to make connections faster and more efficient.
