Nvidia Eyes $1.5 Billion Investment in SB Energy Data Center Venture
Nvidia is in advanced talks to invest $1.5 billion into SB Energy, a data center developer and power platform backed by SoftBank, according to reports.
The investment would be part of Nvidia's up to $3 billion deal with SB Energy, which is building a massive 10-gigawatt data center in Pike County, Ohio, in partnership with OpenAI.
The facility could cost an estimated $500 billion if fully built out and is expected to start operations in 2028, with the first phase at 800 megawatts. Nvidia would reportedly provide a financial guarantee for OpenAI's lease and for SB Energy's future project financing.
