Nvidia Eyes Stake in $30 Billion-Valued AI Startup Perplexity
Nvidia is reportedly in talks to invest in Perplexity, an AI startup that has seen its revenue surge due to the popularity of its cloud-based AI agent. According to Reuters via The Information, the investment could value Perplexity at over $30 billion, up from a valuation of $20 billion last September.
Perplexity's annualized revenue has climbed above $750 million, up from less than $250 million at the beginning of the year, due in part to the success of its AI agent. This growth is helping fuel investor interest as demand for AI-powered search and autonomous agents accelerates.
Perplexity has already attracted prominent investors, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Japan's SoftBank Group, which have backed the company at various valuations. The startup recently signed a $750 million agreement with Microsoft to use its Azure cloud infrastructure.
