Nvidia Invests $1.5B in SB Energy for Ohio AI Factory Campus

Nvidia is investing $1.5 billion in SB Energy and becoming the exclusive AI compute infrastructure provider for OpenAI's PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Ohio.

The campus will feature an initial 4.25 IT-GW of capacity, with Nvidia having an option to cover the remaining 3.75 IT-GW, potentially bringing the total to 8 IT-GW.

SB Energy will build, own, and operate the data center campus under a 20-year lease with OpenAI.

Nvidia's full-stack DSX architecture will be used in the AI factories, which are expected to begin coming online in phases starting in 2028.
