Nvidia Invests $3.5 Billion in MediaTek for Next-Gen AI Computing Platforms

Nvidia has invested $3.5 billion in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek as part of a deepening collaboration to build next-generation AI computing platforms.

The companies will combine Nvidia's accelerated computing, AI, graphics and software with MediaTek's custom silicon expertise, power-efficient system-on-chip (SoC) design, advanced packaging, interconnects and connectivity to create platforms for AI infrastructure, local AI computing, and automotive applications.

MediaTek will adopt the Nvidia NVLink Fusion platform as a design foundation for customers developing custom AI accelerators, enabling their platforms to evolve alongside future NVIDIA architectures.
