Nvidia Invests $3.5B in Expanded Partnership with MediaTek
Nvidia and MediaTek have expanded their partnership to develop AI computing platforms across various sectors. As part of this expansion, Nvidia has invested $3.5 billion in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek.
The collaboration focuses on three key areas: AI infrastructure, local computing, and automotive. For AI infrastructure, MediaTek will work with Nvidia's NVLink Fusion ecosystem to enable customers to develop custom AI infrastructure that integrates with Nvidia rack-scale systems and AI factories.
Nvidia's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, stated, 'AI is transforming every computing platform, from the world's largest AI factories to the PC and the car.' He emphasized that MediaTek's expertise in system-on-chip design, connectivity, performance, and power efficiency make them a valuable partner for Nvidia.
The NVLink Fusion platform provides a foundation for multi-die XPU development, including the Nvidia NVLink Fusion chiplet, Nvidia NVLink-C2C for connectivity between XPUs and Nvidia Rosa CPUs, and Nvidia NVHBM for memory capabilities.
