Nvidia has invested $3.5 billion in MediaTek through convertible bonds, a significant move for both companies. The investment aims to strengthen their partnership and expand their reach in the semiconductor market.

Mustafa Neemuchwala, a partner at New Enterprise Associates, discussed Nvidia's decision to invest in MediaTek, stating that it is an effort by Nvidia to ensure its dominance in the AI chip market.

Nvidia's investment in MediaTek comes as Wafer raises $40 million in Series A funding, valuing the company over $200 million. Emilio Andere, co-founder and CEO of Wafer, talked about optimizing open-source models for non-Nvidia chips during an interview with The Information.
