Nvidia Lands Exclusive Licensing Deal Worth Billions with Poolside AI
Poolside AI has reached a significant milestone after agreeing to a non-exclusive licensing deal with Nvidia. The deal, worth $6 billion, grants access to Poolside's AI model-development software and models. Notably, this arrangement does not involve the acquisition of Poolside by Nvidia.
The structure of the deal is unique, combining a major commercial licensing commitment with strategic equity financing. As part of the agreement, Nvidia will invest $1 billion in Poolside at a pre-money valuation of $12 billion. This investment would significantly increase the company's disclosed commercial and financing scale.
It's worth noting that the licensing deal remains non-exclusive, allowing Poolside to maintain its independence as a company. Additionally, Nvidia plans to hire 109 Poolside employees as part of the agreement.
